Taylor Swift Rejects Query About Children at 30: ‘Men aren’t ‘asked that question’
A German interviewer asked Taylor Swift during her promotional tour for “ME!” if, according to translations, she was at a “kind of turning point in your life? Would you like to be a mother someday, have children?” She approaches her 30th birthday in December.
Swift found the question sexist.
“I really do not think men are asked that question when they turn 30,” she told the German media outlet Deutsche Presse-Agentur. “So I’m not going to answer that now.”
The singer, who has been dating actor Joe Alwyn for two years, did summarize what her 20s were like and what she believes the future may hold.
“We are in our 20s looking to gain experience, try things out, fail, make mistakes,” she told RTL. “I definitely plan to try and fail (at) things in my 30s as well. But I expect that in our 30s, we feel a little better of who we are. The closer I get to it, the more I feel it happens.”
